As democratic socialists, we believe that working people should run both the economy and society democratically to meet human needs, not to make profits for a few. We are the Binghamton University chapter of the Young Democratic Socialists of America. On campus, we fight to make our university a place where students and workers can thrive — where our university works for us, not unelected administrators.
The largest political organization at Binghamton University. Fighting for the working class on campus and in our workplaces.

Upcoming Events
Join us at our upcoming events, and organize with us to fight for a better world. We hold weekly general body meetings during the semester, in addition to social events, political education, and other organizing-related meetings.
Join us to canvass for petition signatures for our campaign, Solidarity Melts ICE. Don't worry if this is your first time canvassing; we will start every shift with canvassing training! Our campaign goals are as follows:
Demand our university and local legislators kick ICE-collaborating companies like Flock, which shares surveillance data with ICE, off our campus and stop local and state entities from working with ICE. It will demand that campus administrators, President D'Alleva and University Vice President of Operations Navarro, and the University Police Department cease the University's contract with Flock, a corporation that shares our data with ICE to aid Trump's deportation agenda.
New York For All Act - would dramatically limit the amount of information that local authorities can share with ICE, especially when it comes to immigration status. It would also kick ICE out of local jails like the Broome County Jail, which houses undocumented immigrants.
Dignity Not Detention Act - would end immigration detention contracts with the New York government and prohibit any private entity (person or business) from operating immigrant detention facilities in New York.
MELT Act - would stop ICE agents from wearing disguises and face masks and enable us to hold agents accountable the next time they kill an innocent person.
Join the largest political organization on campus to plan next steps for our priority campaign - Solidarity Melts ICE - take part in democratic decision making, and engage in political discussion!
Peace Quad - Binghamton University - Binghamton University Peace Quad, Vestal, NY, USA
We’ve watched as college gets more expensive, ICE kidnaps our friends, politicians go to war on our dime, good jobs disappear, and our futures get more uncertain. Billionaires want to rig the system, but we’re rising up on May Day with people across the country because the system can’t function without us!
As the Trump administration attacks working people across the world and utilizes deportations to divide and instill fear in the working class and immigrant communities, we must stand up and fight back to refuse business as usual and demand a nation that puts workers and immigrants over billionaires. If students and workers stand united and organize, we can end our university’s complicity with ICE’s mass terror campaign. Let's demand:
An end to collaboration with ICE’s corporate partners like Flock Safety, a surveillance corporation used by ICE, on our campus
State legislation that prohibits state and local entities from working with ICE (New York for All and Dignity Not Detention)
A SUNY prohibition on sharing any student or worker immigration status information with the federal government
Taxing the rich to fund housing, healthcare, and education, rather than kidnapping our neighbors and friends
A real democracy, one where all who live here have the same political and economic rights
All are welcome — students, workers, alumni, and community members! We'll be meeting at 1:30 PM for a walkout to demand affordability, freedom, and safety at our school. Bring your own signs!
